Casa Amor is an alternate villa used in Love Island. It was first introduced in Season 3 and has been used in the show ever since.
History[]
On June 28, 2017, it was announced that a second villa would be introduced to the show for the first time ever in a twist designed to put the couples to the ultimate test.[1] The villa was called "Casa Amor" which translates to Love House, and is located not far from the main villa.
Format[]
Casa Amor typically takes place at the halfway point during the season, with the aim being to test the islanders loyalty to their partners. It involves separating the couples and sending either the girls or boys to Casa Amor whilst their partners remain in the main villa. Two batches of 5-6 new islanders then enter either villa.
The twist lasts between 3-4 days and at the end a special recoupling ceremony takes place. The islanders are told that they have two options: to stick with their original partner or to twist and couple up with one of the new islanders. If both islanders choose to stick, they are re-united and remain in a couple. If both islanders choose to twist, the two new couples remain on the island. However, if one islander chooses to stick whilst the other chooses to twist, the new couple will remain in the villa whilst the islander who chose to stick remains in the villa but is single. Any new islanders who are not chosen by the end of the ceremony are dumped from the island.
